A colourful Vince with his very popular (albeit trying) "Bat the Rat"
Our Chairman, Duncan Williams stood in at the last minute on the book stall flogging a few bargains
Others watched the brilliant display by the Royal Preston Morris Dancers (Whew--I bet they were hot)
Elsie and Mary had time to chat with customers over a cuppa
….and as Gladys said " A reet good do"
But all agreed, a great day in Croston for all the family
The sad thing was, it was indeed such a good day, that I was cooking sausages all the time and missed so much.
The fair was officially opened by Lord (Doug) Hoyle and although he bought a hot dog from us (are we now entitled to claim "By Appointment" ?) I didn't get a photo of him.
Nor are there any photos of the entertaining display by illusionist extraordinaire Prince Razaq, nor of the wonderful maypole dancers from Trinity St Michael's Primary School.
So PLEASE if anyone has any photos I would be only too pleased to put them on the web site.

ONE FINAL NOTE-- Many many thanks to EVERYONE who helped in any way whatsoever on the day. Some were on the village green hours before the fair opened, fetching and carrying, and afterwards
helping to clear everything away and checking for litter. Many thanks once again to all.
